Scott Johnson, a Huntsville native, co-founded Johnson & Hayes Physical Therapists in January 2003. Scott began playing baseball and basketball at an early age, which he continued through college. He graduated from Grissom High School, where he lettered in baseball and basketball, and went on to play baseball at Gadsden State Community College. He then played baseball at Birmingham-Southern College, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Psychology.
Scott went on to receive his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama – Birmingham, and later received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Having undergone physical therapy due to numerous injuries in collegiate sports, Scott always had an interest in the profession. Scott received his Alabama PT license in 1994, and worked as a Physical Therapist/Manager at Baptist Health System for 4 1/2 years. He then worked as a Physical Therapist/Administrator at HealthSouth for 4-1/2 years.
Scott is married to the former Carrie Cason, and they have two children, Sam and Abby. Scott enjoys treating post-operative and nonoperative orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries with manual therapy emphasis. His areas of interest and expertise include shoulder and knee injuries, scoliosis rehabilitation, and rehabilitation of athletes. In his spare time, Scott loves to spend time with his family and friends, play golf, and serves as a board member with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Todd Hayes - Co-Founder, PT, MS
Todd Hayes, a Huntsville native, co-founded Johnson & Hayes Physical Therapists in January 2003. Todd has an extensive background in sports. He played baseball and basketball at Grissom High School, where he graduated in 1987. Todd was no stranger to sports related injury; he broke his tibia and fibula in his right leg during a baseball collision. The importance of quality rehabilitation became evident at an extremely young age. After graduation from Grissom, Todd played baseball for two years at Gadsden State Community College, and then went on to play at Lipscomb University.
He received a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Math upon graduation from Auburn University, and later a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Upon completing his Physical Therapy degree, Todd worked at HealthSouth for three years. He married his high school sweetheart, Monica Lancaster Hayes, and they have three children: Katie, Carter, and Lauren.
In his spare time, Todd loves to coach youth sports, play golf, snow ski, travel and spend time with his family. He enjoys serving on his church mission board and as board member for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Todd receives extraordinary joy from being a physical therapist because he is able to return people back to the things they love to do.
Carolyn Slandzicki - Business Development
Carolyn Slandzicki, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA has been a resident of Middle TN for over 22 years. After earning her BA in Sociology from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame IN, she dedicated her career in Social Services advocating for adults with a wide variety of disabilities. During the course of raising her young family and continuing advocating for the ill and homebound, she also would volunteer her time in her community and church. As the job of raising her family is near complete, she has taken on the duties of marketing with Johnson and Hayes PT.
Carolyn enjoys connecting with local medical providers and the community while promoting the exceptional care given by our physical therapists. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys playing tennis, boating with her family, and cheering on college sports, as well as Nashville’s very own Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators, much to the dismay of her Pittsburgh family.
She and her husband, Jamie have enjoyed raising their three children in Franklin. Now with their oldest moving on with his own marketing career and their daughters completing undergraduate degrees, Carolyn and her husband look forward to filling their free time traveling and spoiling their dog, Rudy.
Drew Snipes - Physical Therapist
Drew Snipes, originally from Brent, AL has been living and working in Franklin, TN since 2006. He began his career in health and fitness in 2009 when he made the transition from corporate finance to personal trainer in the St. Thomas Hospital Wellness Center. Dealing with his own injuries while training for an IronMan Triathlon and helping clients achieve their physical goals through exercise fueled Drew to increase his knowledge and expand his scope. Drew earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015. Since then, Drew has been diligently working to understand the science behind pain, improve his manual therapy skills (including a certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling), and finding the most efficient ways to help clients get back to health. Drew believes strongly in the power of the partnership between physical therapist and patient to maximize healing and realize goals. He strives to be a familiar face to the community in Franklin, TN and provide the highest quality care so that patients can have continuity of care and as a result, live their best lives. Outside the clinic, Drew enjoys ‘everything outdoors’ including fishing, hunting, softball, canoeing, running, hiking, camping, and golf. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lydia and two children Grady and Charlotte.
Nicole Larson - Physical Therapist
Nicole Larson is from the Disney capital of the world, Orlando, Florida where she grew up dancing and cheering and trying to show up her brother in any sport he pursued. She is a University of Central Florida graduate with a major in Pre-clinical Health and minor in Fitness Training. She found her passion working as a Physical Therapy technician and went on to the University of Florida to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree. She has experience in orthopedics and loves working with pediatrics, dancers, cheerleaders, pelvic health and Parkinson’s patients. Her goal is to give her patients the tools they need to connect mind and body and return to optimum health in order to fully participate in life activities. She recently got married and bought a house in Franklin, TN and is extremely excited to join the Johnson and Hayes Physical Therapy team. In her spare time, she loves to try new recipes, hike and go to the park with her dog named Cornbread, practice yoga, barre, dance, jog, and watching football with friends.
